ODDS AND ENDS

A couple of noteworthy items from the past few days...

Early Sunday morning at around 04:30 hours, WCPD units were dispatched to the report of a distrubance on the 400 block of East Barnard Street. The reporting party indicated that an individual was being loud and disorderly, thus disturbing the peace. As officers were on scene and investigating, the actor could actually be heard screaming in a loud voice while one of the officers was on the radio talking to dispatch. Suffice to say the actor, Charlique Boggs, 22, was arrested and later pled guilty to Public Drunkeness and a violation of the Borough Noise Ordinance...

Then, there's the case (or cases) of Alexandria Anne Henson...

Henson, 18, of West Chester, first caught the attention of WC Unplugged when she was arraigned last month on two counts of Filing a False Police Report. She was scheduled for a preliminary hearing yesterday, however that case was continued to July 24. What seems noteworthy is (1) the fact that this is not the first criminal case this particular defendant has pending in the court system and (2) during her arraignment, she noted that she was to start work at one of the borough's restaurants.

On January 24, Henson was charged by P/O Peter Dougherty of the East Whiteland Township Police with DUI following a traffic stop; Henson waived her preliminary hearing on March 13 in Exton District Court and had filed an ARD application, which was rejected by the DA's office three weeks ago and is now has a pending trial in front of Judge Gavin at Common Pleas Court. (15-4-03, CR-0000038-07; CP-15-CR-0001115-2007)

Over the weekend, Sgt. William Camlin of the West Goshen Police Department cited Henson for Speeding after being clocked going 36 mph over the posted speed limit (15-2-03; TR-0001838-07), two days after P/O Christopher Daly of the WCPD cited her for Underage Drinking (15-1-01, NT-0000586-07).

And to think that this idiot is working at one of the borough's liquor licensed restaurants? Granted, none of the cases have been resolved as of yet, and there's the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. But this is a little ridiculous, even by West Chester standards...

On that note, the 15-1-01 criminal day report plus a preliminary hearing held at Common Pleas Court on a WCU related case will be posted later today; I've just been a little bit backlogged over the past couple of days and am just starting to get caught up.
