ERT RAID IN WEST SIDE

Residents along the 200 block of North New Street - myself included - got an unusual wake up call, courtesy of the WCPD...

At around 06:45 this morning, WCPD detectives and the West Chester Regional Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at 224 North New Street. One male and two females were taken into custody. Raymond Cunningham, 38, was charged with 4 counts each of Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphanalia. He was arraigned today and committed to Chester County Prison in lieu of $50,000 cash bail. The two females arrested this morning have not been charged as of yet, and it's entirely possible they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This is the fourth drug raid to occur within a 2-3 block area in the West Side over the past three years. Suffice to say that the quality of life in the area north of St. Agnes Church has skyrocketed upwards over that time, or at least since I've been living in that neighborhood over the past 7 years.
