HIT & RUN BY COLLEGE

At 02:40, WCPD units were dispatched to the report of a hit-and-run at South High and Sharpless Streets. Upon arrival, Sgt. Jeffrey Ditz reported a female on the ground after being struck by a vehicle believed to be a tan colored Toyota Corolla which fled northbound on High Street from the scene. The victim did not appear to suffer lift threatening injuries. Witnesses are asked to call West Chester Police at 610-696-2700...

Meanwhile, it was about the normal amount of call volume for a Saturday night, even if a lot of the college kids are away for the weekend. Shortly after 00:30, WCPD and EMS units were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at Kildare's. County radio recieved a 9-1-1 call from a person requesting police and an ambulance to the notorious restaurant/bar; GFAC and both Medic 91 units responded only to be recalled after the report was ruled "unfounded," meaning either the incident didn't happen or that Kildare's management pulled a fast one and swept whatever little incident that happened under the rug (personally, my guess would be the latter)...

WCPD did make up for it by picking up a couple drunks from bars further down West Gay Street - one at Ryan's and one at Landmark. (For all the talk of a police substation over the years, sticking one at the Landmark building might not be a bad idea. It might just cut down on the travel time for responding units since between Kildare's, Ryan's, Jitters, and Landmark, you should certainly pick up a bunch of drunken idiots from those dives.)
