ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE...

I know that last week was the full moon and everything, but that apparently hasn't stopped things from getting very chaotic tonight.

At around 23:30 Saturday night, a WCPD officer was involved in an serious MVA at Chestnut and Darlington. According to initial reports, at least two patients were trapped in the vehicle that was struck. Stations 51 and 53 responded to the accident, along with GFAC and both Medic 91 units. Medic 46 from Downingtown was added as the 3rd ALS unit, but later recalled. One patient, a 24-year-old male passenger who was wearing his seat belt, was flown to Crozer-Chester Medical Center; the officer was transported by GFAC with non-life threatening injuries.

Reports inidcated that the driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with DUI and aggravated assault. There was also some reports that the vehicle may have been stolen, but that wasn't confirmed.

The hour leading up to the Daylight Savings Time change-over was, to say the least, eventful...

In at least 5 separate incidents between 01:00 and 01:45, a total of 7 subjects were arrested and taken into custody for various offenses, mainly public intoxication.

An report of a large crowd at Adams and Barnard ultimately led to at least 2 arrests. Officers were searching for as a many as 6 subjects, and reportedly made contact with some of them at Barnard and Matlack. The disposition of the other four is unknown.

Soon thereafter, police apprehended an intoxicated male near the BeerMill at Wayne and Chestnut after a brief search for the actor.

Meanwhile, another unit was requested to the scene of the earlier MVA for an unrelated incident where a male was arrested on unknown charges.

While units were responding to Chestnut and Darlington, a disturbance at Ryan's led to two arrests and an assist from West Goshen Police.

As soon as that incident cleared, police arrested a subject for public drunkeness after being spotted face down at High and Market.

And the clock hasn't even hit 03:00 yet... Looks like a very busy night of processing criminals in West Chester tonight.
