Tanya Renee Thompson, 34, of West Chester was formally charged this morning with two counts of Aggravated Assault, two counts of Simple Assault, and one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person after allegedly assaulting a male on the 300 block of South Matlack Street last night. With those charges, one would think that bail would be set to a point where Thompson would be staying at Chester County Prison to await her preliminary hearing...
In a word - nope...
Thompson was arraigned in District Court this morning and is presently free on what appears to be 10 percent of $2,500 bail, according to the web docket sheet from the AOPC web site. (For those of you who took the under, feel free to gloat.) Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 31 (15-1-04, CR-0000262-07).
I guess keeping the East Side safe from subjects charged with violent felonies is asking too much from the courts, but hopefully, the Adult Probation and Parole Office will find a way to violate the terms of her current probation (see yesterday's posting for further).
Nice system, huh?
