At around 17:30 Wednesday afternoon, a 20-year-old male was stabbed near the WCU campus. The incident occured at 533 S High St after a dispute between residents turned violent. The victim was transported by GFAC to Chester County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed in the hand during the fracas.
Maureen P. Griffis, 19, of Philadelphia, was arrested upon police arrival, and faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime, reckless endangerment, and terroristic threats. She was released from jail after posting $10,000 cash bail.
WCPD took two residents of the house to the station for further questioning, though they were not placed under arrest.
