Lab Outreach Support needed at Greenwich Hospital

Lab Outreach Support obtains blood from patients by venipuncture or skin puncture observing proper techniques and representing the Hospital in a caring and courteous manner to all patients. Computer data entry required. Interviewing patients to obtain demographic information for registration, or obtaining information from physicians’ office requisitions for drop-off samples, followed by ordering laboratory procedures. Daily duties will vary and include reception, registration, order entry, physicians’ office communication and problem solving. Skills Required: Working with patients directly, a great deal of emphasis is placed on patient interpersonal skills. The phlebotomy activity requires manual dexterity with excellent fine motor skills. The registration activity requires computer and interviewing skills while working alone independently.Two years of college preferred. Experience in phlebotomy and registration . Computer keyboarding and interpersonal skills required. The preferred candidate will have 2 years experience.
