One cynic can't help but wonder what took so long. One would've expected that West Chester PD's first major action (1) would've taken place on New Year's Eve and (2) would've taken place either at one of the Uptown bars or on South Walnut St. Amazingly, it took until Wednesday night for that to take place...
At around 20:15, police were alerted to two suspicious white males in the area of the 100 block of Dean Street who were reported to be intoxicated. One of the actors was alleged to have tossed a brick through a window of a parked vehicle. Upon arrival, one of the subjects was detained by police as back-up arrived. Shortly after the second unit arrived, the second subject fled of foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the actor was detained on Juniper Alley, behind 214 Price St. It was later determined that the suspect who fled from police, a 20 year old white male, threw the brick into the vehicle and was believed to possibly have an active bench warrant. The actor was taken into custody, and will likely face charged of resisting arrest and eluding police in addition to likely criminal mischief charges.
